James "Popcorn" Campbell
Newest Board Member to the Mohawks Foundation. The Mohawks Foundation today announced that former baseball great James
"Popcorn" Campbell, has joined the board of advisors of the foundation. Mr. Campbell, a retired successful businessman in the music business and concert promoter began his association with the Mohawks in the late 1950's with the
Mohawks farm Club called the "Apaches". When Mr. Campbell reached his mid teens he was quickly welcomed at the level of Mohawk starter at the position of "Pitcher". Mr. Campbell was given his nickname of "Popcorn", by his team
mates as a rookie gesture. Mr. Campbell was also assigned as team mentor to the younger players in the farm club as one of his duties. Mr. Campbell leads the annual golf tournament for the foundation and volunteers on other
committees.
